Racing Series

Racing Series

Our primary method of fundraising here at Team Summit Foundation is through racing!  The Team Summit Foundation motto is
Support Through Sport, and we try our hardest to do just that!

All of our Racing Series events are more than just running, we also have parties at all of our events! These parties are open to the public, and we encourage everyone to come join us.  Each racing event will feature its own fun activities, music, and food… check out each race for more details!

March 17.
Leprechaun Loop 8k.

Join for the Leprechaun Loop, as we run and party to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!  This nighttime 8k loop is a road course through the town of Davidson (see the course layout here), and finishes at Summit Coffee on Main Street.  As with all of our racing series, the run concludes with a party at Summit Coffee including live music, beer, food, and awards for the winners!

June 17.
Summit Solstice 12-Hour Relay.

Our 12-hour relay is the only race of this type we do! Race solo or part of a 4- or 8-person team as you take turn running for 12 straight hours!  The race takes place at the Summit Coffee Outpost location on the Davidson College campus.  There are 3-, 5-, and 10- mile loops that will earn teams 1, 2, or 5 points respectively.  At the end of the 12 hours, the teams with the most collective points will win prizes from our local sponsors!  Not interested in running for 12-hours straight?  That’s perfectly fine too! We would still love for you to come out and join us as we have a festival with local vendors set up, food, music, and lots of family friendly activities!

November 11.
Twilight 5k.

This race caps Team Summit Foundation’s month-long fundraising effort for Movember, a global non-profit organization raising money and awareness for men’s health issues. Team Summit Foundation leads a town full of mustache growers for all of November, generating awareness of the cause through some terrific upper lips. The race is a beautiful but challenging nighttime 5K road course through the town of Davidson; the greenway will be lit with 1,000 luminaries for the is memorable evening (to see the layout of the course, click here).  The Twilight 5k will conclude, of course, with a fantastic post-race party at Summit Coffee, including live music, food, beer, and awards!
